STORAGE QUÉBEC

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Storage Québec places significant importance on protecting personal information. This Policy explains how Les Entreprises Kema inc., the operator of Storage Québec, collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects personal information through the Storage Québec website, mobile applications and services.

1. Privacy Officer

The person exercising the highest authority within Les Entreprises Kema inc. acts as the person responsible for the protection of personal information unless that function has been delegated in writing in accordance with applicable law.

Requests concerning access, correction, portability or privacy may be sent to storagequebec@gmail.com.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use Storage Québec, we may collect your first and last name, email address, telephone number, account identifier, language preference and information necessary for authentication and account security.

For users listing a space, we may collect the address, city, region, dimensions, price, characteristics, access conditions, availability, photographs and information necessary for reservations.

For reservations, we may collect the space booked, rental periods, price, service fees, taxes, renewals, cancellations, refunds and transaction history.

We may also collect technical information such as IP address, device type, browser, operating system, connection times and logs required for service operation and security.

3. Payments

Payments may be processed by Stripe or another payment provider clearly identified on the Platform.

Storage Québec does not intentionally store complete payment card numbers in its own database when payment information is processed directly by the payment provider.

Storage Québec may receive and retain transaction information such as the amount, date, payment status, transaction identifier, refunds and payment disputes.

4. How we use personal information

We use personal information to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, publish listings, enable searches and reservations, facilitate payments, manage renewals, process cancellations and refunds and provide customer support.

Information may also be used for security, fraud prevention, dispute management, enforcement of the Terms of Use, compliance with legal, tax or accounting obligations and improvement of the reliability of the Platform.

We seek to limit collection to information necessary for identified purposes.

5. Information shared between users

Certain information must be shared between the space provider and renter in order to carry out a reservation.

Following a confirmed reservation, the renter may receive the exact address of the space and required access instructions.

The space provider may receive the information reasonably necessary to identify the renter and manage the reservation.

Users must not use another user's personal information for purposes unrelated to the reservation without authorization or another legal basis.

6. Technology providers

Storage Québec uses or plans to use third-party technology providers to operate the service.

Supabase may be used for accounts, authentication, databases and storage.

Stripe may be used for payments, payouts and fraud-prevention functions.

Vercel may be used to host and deliver the Web application.

Apple and Google may process certain information when a user downloads or uses a Storage Québec application distributed through their platforms.

Other providers may be used for email, notifications, security or technical support.

7. Processing outside Québec

Some technology providers may process or store personal information outside Québec depending on their infrastructure and the configuration of services used.

Where required by law, Storage Québec assesses privacy-related factors before personal information is communicated outside Québec and takes appropriate measures to protect that information.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

Storage Québec may use cookies, tokens or similar technologies required for sessions, authentication, security, fraud prevention and operation of the service.

If non-essential technologies are used for analytics, advertising, marketing measurement or profiling, they will be managed in accordance with applicable consent requirements.

9. Geolocation

Storage Québec applications may eventually allow users to search for spaces near their location.

Where access to device location requires permission, the function is only used after the user chooses to enable it.

Users may continue to use other search methods offered by the Platform, such as searching by city or area, where available.

10. Profiling and automated decisions

If Storage Québec uses technology that constitutes profiling under applicable law, the required information and choices will be presented to users.

If a decision concerning a person is based exclusively on automated processing of personal information, Storage Québec will provide the information and opportunities for intervention required by law.

11. Commercial communications

Creating a Storage Québec account does not automatically constitute general consent to receive all promotional communications.

Storage Québec may send communications necessary for the operation of the service, including account confirmations, security notices, reservations, payments, renewals and cancellations.

Where consent is required for commercial messages, Storage Québec provides a mechanism to unsubscribe.

12. Sale of personal information

Storage Québec does not sell users’ personal information.

13. Disclosure required or permitted by law

Storage Québec may disclose personal information where required or permitted by law, including in response to a court order or legally valid request from a competent authority.

Information may also be disclosed where legally necessary to prevent fraud, protect a person’s safety or exercise a right recognized by law.

14. Security

Storage Québec implements reasonable measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, theft, unauthorized modification or disclosure.

These measures may include access controls, authentication, secure connections, technical logs and security mechanisms provided by the platforms used.

No Internet-connected system can guarantee zero risk.

15. Internal access

Access to personal information within Storage Québec is limited to people who reasonably require access to perform their duties.

16. Retention

Storage Québec retains personal information only for as long as required for the purposes for which it was collected and for any additional period required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or evidentiary purposes.

When information is no longer required and no rule requires its retention, it is securely destroyed or anonymized in accordance with applicable requirements.

Closing an account therefore does not necessarily result in immediate deletion of all information relating to past transactions.

17. Account closure

A user may request closure of their account.

Storage Québec deletes, destroys or anonymizes information that is no longer necessary, subject to active reservations, legal obligations, disputes, fraud prevention and reasonable evidentiary requirements.

18. Privacy incidents

If a privacy incident occurs, Storage Québec takes reasonable measures to reduce the risk of harm and prevent similar incidents from occurring.

Where required by law, Storage Québec notifies affected individuals and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Storage Québec also maintains the incident register required by law.

19. Right of access

A person may ask whether Storage Québec holds personal information about them and request access to information they are legally entitled to receive.

Storage Québec may verify the identity of the requester before disclosing information.

20. Right to correction

A person may request correction of personal information that is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous where permitted by law.

21. Portability

Where applicable legal conditions are met, a person may request certain computerized personal information collected from them in a structured and commonly used technological format.

Where permitted by law and technically possible, the information may also be communicated to another authorized person or organization.

22. Withdrawal of consent

Where processing is based on consent that may legally be withdrawn, a user may withdraw that consent.

Withdrawal does not retroactively invalidate processing that was lawful before withdrawal and may prevent Storage Québec from providing a feature requiring the relevant information.

23. De-indexation and cessation of dissemination

In circumstances provided by law, a person may ask Storage Québec to stop disseminating personal information or to de-index a link providing access to that information.

24. Complaints

A person who believes their personal information has been handled improperly may contact the person responsible for the protection of personal information at Storage Québec.

A person also retains any rights or remedies available before the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

25. Minors

Storage Québec is intended for users aged 18 and over.

A person under 18 must not independently create an account for the purpose of listing a space or making a reservation.

26. Changes to this Policy

Storage Québec may amend this Policy to reflect new features, technological changes, service changes or evolving legal requirements.

Where the law requires specific notice or renewed consent, Storage Québec complies with those requirements.

The date of the current version is shown at the top of this Policy.
